Lead Cost Controller | Global Logistics in Electronics | Born

Over onze klant
Since its establishment in 2011, this fast-growing logistics service provider has become a global leader in innovative supply chain solutions. Specializing in end-to-end logistics, the company leverages its proprietary platform to optimize operations and provide strategic supply chain consultancy. With operations spanning 40 countries and a team of over 4,500 logistics experts, the company delivers tailored logistics solutions across various industries.

The company fosters an open and informal work culture, with leadership actively engaged and accessible. The Vice President frequently interacts with teams, promoting a collaborative and approachable management style. Key operations in the Netherlands are based in Delft (HQ), with major logistics hubs in Breda, Tilburg, Maasvlakte, and Born.

The Dutch operations manage both captive and non-captive business models. Captive business serves its own worldwide known electronics brand, handling products such as TVs, tablets, and mobile phones. The non-captive segment supports diverse clients, including a leading Japanese printer manufacturer and vacuum cleaner brands. The team at the Born location is a mix of (inter)nationals colleagues, where the main language and documentation is in English.

Functie
As a Lead Cost Controller, you will play a vital role in managing financial operations and business control activities. Your focus will be on financial reporting, cost control, and providing advisory support to ensure operational profitability. This role offers autonomy, allowing you to drive improvements while collaborating closely with key stakeholders. With the finance function transitioning to a Shared Service Center (SSC) in Slovakia, you will facilitate this shift while maintaining strong communication with on-site teams.

Reporting to the Contract Director, you will work closely with the RHQ Finance Team in Delft and the SSC. Additionally, you will serve as a key contact for management teams in Born, Maasvlakte, and Tilburg, supporting both junior finance professionals and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities in the role:

  • Financial Operations & Controlling – Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring timely payments, issue resolution, and safeguarding the financial health of operations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Prepare and analyze monthly budget reports and forecasts, monitor financial progress, and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Management Reporting & Analysis – Provide insights into turnover, expenses, and profitability, supporting decision-making at the management and HQ levels.
  • Risk Management – Identify financial and operational risks, coordinate risk reporting, and develop improvement strategies.
  • Business Control & Advisory – Collaborate with the Transport Manager and other stakeholders to optimize cost efficiencies, pricing strategies, and financial performance. Offer strategic advice based on financial analysis.
  • Transition to Shared Service Center – Support the migration of invoicing and cost control functions to SSC Slovakia while ensuring seamless communication between local teams and the SSC.
  • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement – Lead and mentor a streamlined team of cost controllers, serving as a key contact for junior professionals, project teams, and senior management.

As a Lead Cost Controller you will receive significant autonomy with opportunities to drive financial and operational improvements. Performance is measured by results rather than micromanagement. You will make a meaningful financial impact while engaging with commercial aspects of the business. Occasional travel to locations such as Tilburg and Maasvlakte may be required.

If you are a proactive finance professional with strong analytical and advisory skills, this role provides an excellent opportunity to grow within an evolving financial landscape.
